**Appointment Only. Beginning February 1, 2025 Appointments can be made on the website or in person on Mon or Tue 9 am-12 pm. All clients must obtain and complete a tax preparation packet prior to their scheduled appointment. Packets are available at Senior Services of Central Illinois 701 W. Mason St. Springfield, IL during open hours at the reception desk just inside the main entrance. Clients that need to reschedule an appointment should call.

Helps working families take advantage of all eligible tax credits, including the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), Child Tax Credit (CTC) and education credits. Volunteers from the community help prepare basic, current-year tax returns for eligible taxpayers.

Starting January 2025, tax preparation is offered primarily in-person by appointment, with an option for walk-in services at the Martin Luther King Community Center (Rock Island).
