Eligibility

Must be a victim of trafficking, torture, or other serious crimes OR be a witness cooperating with law enforcement investigating or prosecuting these crimes; Must be an Illinois resident AND have filed an application for Asylum, T Visa, or U Visa (asylum applicants must have a derivative family member AND income must be below 100% of the federal poverty level)

Description

Illinois Department of Human Services' Victims of Trafficking, Torture or Other Serious Crimes (VTTC) program provides state-funded medical assistance to non-citizen victims of trafficking, torture or other serious crimes and their derivative family members when not otherwise eligible for federally funded medical benefits if they have applied or intend to apply for "T" Non-immigrant status, "U" Non-immigrant status, or Asylum Status "AS".
