Open to in-school youth ages 16-21, or out of school youth ages 16-24, who are authorized to work in the US and experiencing a barrier to employment; Barriers may include: - Pregnant/parenting - Individual with a disability - Individual involved in the court system - Homeless - Low-income - In foster care or aged out of foster care - Runaway - School dropout

Description

Provides a program for youth who have limited or no prior work experience and are experiencing barriers to employment to have an opportunity to participate in a paid work experience with local businesses. Work experiences are typically 4-12 weeks in length, but may be longer depending on the needs of the participant.

Services include:

- Career and guidance counseling.

- Education preparation and planning.

- Paid vocational training.
