Restricted to older adults, individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities, Veterans, and others unable to prepare their own foodThe delivery area includes communities north of Chicago to the Wisconsin state line and west to the western edge of Lake County.

Mon 11:30am - 1:30pm Tue 11:30am - 1:30pm Wed 11:30am - 1:30pm Thu 11:30am - 1:30pm Fri 11:30am - 1:30pm Sat 11:30am - 1:30pm Meals will be delivered to each pick-up location at a designated time by a volunteer distribution route driver

The regular cost per day is $8 per meal, reduced fees are also available using a sliding scale

Description

Meals on Wheels Northeastern Illinois delivers meals to older adults, individuals with physical and cognitive disabilities, Veterans, and others unable to prepare their own food. They provide short-term services to help during a medical situation like recovering after surgery, or long-term services to support a healthy life.They also provide free dog and cat food on a monthly basis to more than 450 pets owned by clients. Pets get the food they need and clients, many of whom are socially isolated, benefit from interaction with pet-loving volunteers. Additionally, cat litter, new or gently used collars, leashes, bedding, toys, scratching posts, etc. may also be available while supplies last.
