Registers vehicles in Illinois and licenses their drivers. Other major Secretary of State (SOS) functions include: - Recording ownership (certificate of title) of the vehicles SOS registers. - Maintaining driving records (accidents and convictions) of licensed drivers. - Issuing identification cards for individuals. - Registering and recording ownership of vessels. - Licensing and regulating driving and traffic violator schools and their instructors. Also provides a service email for residents who have a driver’s license suspension or revocation or any other loss of driving privileges
