Eligibility

Foster children must be referred by DCFS Foster parents must meet the following requirements: - Home must have enough room and meet basic safety and sanitary standards - Must pass a criminal background check and be physically and emotionally capable of caring for a child - Must not have substance use problems - Must attend training to prepare for issues and responsibilities involved with being a foster parent

Other services include: - Counseling services for children, foster parents, and birth parents - Children advocacy in court - 24 hour crisis interventions - Foster home monitoring - Referrals for birth parents to get help for issues that prevent them from being with their children
